Kate Ashby, Improv Queen, is a double Gemini nominated actor whose passion is teaching Improv to diverse groups of students. During her 15-year tenure at Second City, Kate developed one of the Training Centre’s most successful programs; it still runs today. For over 15 years she taught at Ryerson University and is a Guest Director at the Theatre School.
Kate has taught Improv to students in the Ivey MBA Transformational Leadership course and is thrilled to be teaching Improv at the Canadian Film Center founded by Norman Jewison and at the Shaw Festival. The Kate Ashby Academy, launched in 2010 in Toronto, has full enrollment with five unique classes where all are welcome.
Kate Ashby, est reine de l’improvisation. Passionnée pour la formation d’étudiants en matière d’improvisation, elle a été nominée par deux fois au prix Gemini. Tout au long des 15 années qu’elle a passées à Second City, elle a conçu l’un des programmes les plus couronnés de succès du centre de formation. Même de nos jours, ce programme est encore offert aux étudiants. Elle a enseigné pendant plus de 15 ans à l’Université Ryerson, en plus d’être réalisatrice invitée pour l’école de théâtre.
