Brian McCartney has enjoyed a stellar career in musical performance all his life. As a student he founded the Cornwall Centennial Choir, which amassed numerous regional, provincial, national and international awards. As musical director at GVSS he turned the school into a musical powerhouse, taking first place honours in the Ottawa Music Festival several times. At CCVS, he spearheaded the SD&G Vocal Ensemble, an innovative show choir that performed in the United Kingdom, Stratford and by repeated invitation at Disney World in Florida. He has served as musical director in many superb amateur theatre productions and he continues to mentor music & drama teacher candidates at Queens and Ottawa Universities.
Brian McCartney a mené toute sa vie une brillante carrière d’interprète musical. Lorsqu’il était étudiant, il a fondé le Cornwall Centennial Choir, qui a remporté de nombreux prix régionaux, provinciaux, nationaux et internationaux. En tant que directeur musical de l’école secondaire General Vanier, il a transformé l’école en une centrale musicale, remportant plusieurs fois la première place au Festival de musique d’Ottawa.
