Bernard Chevrier was a distinguished public servant who combined experience and a passion for research to write widely on history, international relations and his birthplace, Cornwall. He published two definitive biographies of his famous father, Lionel Chevrier, a Man of Action and wrote two important essays on Cornwall: The Growth of a Francophone Community 1871-2012 and French Cornwall from Yesterday to Today. In addition, Bernard authored several historical fictions such as The Destiny of Antoine Brûlé. He also contributes to the magazine Le Chaînon, where, through his writings, he highlights the vitality of the francophone community of Cornwall in the context of the history of Ontario.
Bernard Chevrier était un éminent fonctionnaire qui combinait l’expérience et la passion pour la recherche pour écrire largement sur l’histoire, les relations internationales et sa ville natale, Cornwall. Il a publié deux biographies définitives de son célèbre père, Lionel Chevrier, un homme de combat et a écrit deux essais importants sur Cornwall: L’évolution d’une communauté francophone, 1871-2012 et Cornwall français d’hier à aujourd’hui. De plus, Bernard est l’auteur de plusieurs fictions historiques telles Le Destin d’Antoine Brûlé. Il contribue également à la revue Le Chaînon où, à travers ses écrits, il met en lumière la vitalité de la communauté francophone de Cornwall dans le contexte de l’histoire de l’Ontario.
