Yolande Charbonneau, singer, musician and mentor
Yolande Charbonneau was a musical force that swept the Cornwall francophone community up into a wave of song. In the early sixties, she opened her home to youth and gave them the gift of song. They called themselves “Les Voix de l’Harmonie de Cornwall”, or simply VHC and mounted major productions encompassing a vast repertoire of musical genres. They learned administration and production as well as performance.
In 2005, Yolande published the history of VHC in “Le Choeur d’arc-en-ciel.” VHC continues to meet today, in honour of Yolande Charbonneau, who was mother, friend and mentor to all.

Yolande Charbonneau était une force musicale qui a entraîné la communauté francophone de Cornwall dans une vague de chansons. Au début des années soixante, elle a ouvert son domicile aux jeunes et leur a offert le don du chant. Ils se sont appelés “Les Voix de l’Harmonie de Cornwall”, ou tout simplement VHC. Ils ont monté de grands spectacles englobant un vaste répertoire musical de plusieurs genres. Ils ont appris l’administration et la production de spectacles aussi bien que la prestation musicale.
En 2005, elle a publié l’histoire de VHC dans un livre intitulé “Le Choeur d’arc-en-ciel.” De nos jours, les membres de VHC continuent de se réunir en l’honneur de Yolande Charbonneau, mère, amie et mentor de tous.
