Pierre Giroux, painter
Pierre launched his professional career as a high school student at L’école secondaire catholique La Citadelle, from whence he traveled to the Ontario College of Art and Design in Toronto and from there to Florence, Italy, where he furthered developed his skills. Exceptionally talented and classically trained, Pierre worked in British Columbia but sold his works in Canadian cities from coast to coast, before returning to Cornwall and establishing a studio. His favourite subjects are interior spaces, animated by the play of light and shadow that evoke a sense of timelessness.
Pierre’s latest work is a series of historical plaques that recall the industrial history of Cornwall.

Pierre Giroux a amorcé sa carrière professionnelle alors qu’il était un jeune étudiant à l’École secondaire catholique La Citadelle. Il a continué ses études au Ontario College of Art and Design de Toronto et se rend ensuite à Florence, Italie pour perfectionner sa technique. Doté d’un talent exceptionnel et d’une formation classique, Pierre Giroux a travaillé en Colombie britannique tout en vendant ses oeuvres dans plusieurs villes canadiennes d’un océan à l’autre. Puis, il est revenu à Cornwall pour ouvrir son studio. Ses sujets de prédilection sont les espaces intérieurs animés par des jeux d’ombres et de lumières évoquant l’intemporalité.
