Edith Stiles, actress, the grande dame of theatre
Edith was a ‘tour de force’ in amateur theatre in Cornwall. She was an early and active member of Cornwall Little Theatre and served as secretary and president of the Eastern Ontario Drama league and headed the Dominion Drama Festival Board. She loved theatre and participated in every capacity from directing to prompting.
She was always keenly aware of the need for a home for the arts and supported efforts to that end. Edith received many accolades and awards during her career.

Edith a été un phénomène rare pour le théâtre amateur à Cornwall. Elle a été un membre actif du Cornwall Little Theatre au tout début de sa création. Elle a siégé comme secrétaire et présidente de l’Eastern Ontario Drama league. Elle a été présidente du conseil d’administration du Dominion Drama Festival. Elle était passionnée de théâtre tant et si bien qu’elle a fait mille et un métiers de la direction jusqu’à être souffleuse lors des présentations de pièces.
Elle est parfaitement consciente du besoin de trouver un toit pour les arts à Cornwall et elle appui tous les efforts faits envers ce but. Edith Stiles a reçu de multiples distinctions et plusieurs prix au cours de sa carrière.
