Lionel Tessier, actor, activist
Lionel enjoys the well-deserved reputation as a theatre visionary, mentor, director and actor. He was a champion for the preservation of the Capitol Theatre. He led the “Save the Capitol Theatre” committee which kept the lights on and the seats filled, 1978 -1986.
Lionel served on the Upper Canada Playhouse Board of Directors, was Chairman of the Eastern Ontario Drama League and Glen Productions and adjudicated three Sears Drama Festivals.
Lionel received many accolades and awards over the course of his career.

Lionel Tessier jouit d’une réputation bien méritée en tant qu’homme de théâtre visionnaire, mentor, directeur et acteur. On se souvient de lui comme le champion de la préservation du théâtre Le Capitole. Il a dirigé le comité “Sauvons le théâtre Le Capitole” qui a réussi à payer l’électricité et à remplir les salles entre 1978 et 1986.
Il a siégé au conseil d’administration de l’Upper Canada Playhouse. Il a été président de l’Eastern Ontario Drama League et de Glen Productions. Il a servi comme juge pour trois Sears Drama Festivals.
Lionel Tessier a reçu de multiples distinctions et plusieurs prix au cours de sa carrière.
